Have you ever wanted to do something – anything – so badly that when you found the courage and bravery inside of you to tell someone about it you get hit with the, “Well, you’re a woman ( girl, lady) you can’t do that!” spiel?
It hurts.
And it’s discouraging.
As women, we are programmed into this false idea that we don’t deserve to have and be everything we want, but I’m not about that life and neither should you baby girl!
I had to come to a place in my life where I believed that where I wanted to be in life was where I belonged and that so long as I worked hard for it, I could have it.
I also had to realize that my self-worth didn’t come from my beauty or my body and that my confidence didn’t only have to come from looking the prettiest and having the brightest smile.
Maybe you’re lacking confidence in starting your own business or in your ability to lose weight or raise a family or become a kick-ass Jiu-Jitsu instructor, well, these confidence-building quotes are for you.
Therefore, I’m hoping that this post gives you that feeling of being a confident woman – whether you post it on your wall, create a screensaver, desktop wallpaper, or on your phone, you’ve got the power to change your own life.

What does confidence mean?
Before we get into the meat of these quotes I wanted to talk about what confidence really means.
According to any dictionary (let’s use Webster’s), confidence means “a feeling of trust or belief.”
OK, but what does that mean? Being confident means feeling secure and sure in your abilities. You’re not nervous, frightened, or scared. You’re sure of who you are, what you are, and where you are going.
How can a girl be confident?
Having confidence can be tricky for women though. We are poked, prodded, examined, ridiculed, objectified, and humiliated in ways that are stupendously unique to our sex.
However, a girl can be confident in an overly critical society that believes that women should only have thin waists and long flowing hair, by ignoring the naysayers or by faking it until she makes it. By faking it, you’re reprogramming your subconscious into believing that you really are confident.
It’s an interesting thing to feel over time, too – your confidence rising because you told yourself that you were confident. It’s not something that happens overnight, it may take a few months, maybe even a year or two, but that slow progression of feeling it and knowing that you are sure in yourself even in the face of being scared can be rewarding.
Women can be confident in their business life, the way that they dress, their hairstyle, and in so many other tangible ways, but feeling it inside is what will help it shine on the outside.
My hope is that the quotes below will help you in your quest to become the confident woman that I know you are.
