Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and if you didn’t, here’s me wishing you a better 2022 whatever your circumstance. Let’s get into this –
Soooo last month (December 2021) was a bust.
I aimed high and I stayed on the ground.
Basically, nothing got done; however, I should have known based on my foreseen circumstances that things just were not going to go to plan in any way shape or form. 😂 Still, I’m very proud of myself for doing something.
Alright, I’m going to keep this short and sweet, so let’s jump into the December blog income report and talk about how January will be done a little differently.
If you’re new to lemonade + adventure, welcome! Glad you’re here (and I hope you stay around). Below are previous blog reports if you feel so inclined to check them out (all 2021 of course):
August // September // October // November // December
Overview: I celebrated a year in November (very proud of myself if I do say so) and I started this report to keep myself on track. It’s been a hard couple of months though since I started a new job and my hours are smack-dab in the middle of the day so it’s hard to find motivation before and after work to do anything.
However, I’ve created some great New Year Resolutions that I know will pan out so I’m not worried for the next year (I’m undecided on if I’ll divulge these within the next year or not).
Recap on why I started this series:
- Accountability
- The analysis of patterns to see what is/isn’t working and how to improve
- My time is limited with other business ventures and I’m taking courses to improve my career situation outside of lemonade + adventure.

December Goals Recap
My main goals were:
- Write 5 posts (with 3 pins each) [✖]
Ha. Didn’t even come close. I was writing the third post for well over two weeks, but I didn’t have it in me to complete it.
My foreseen circumstances, unfortunately, created this problem and I should have mellowed it out to three posts as I had done in November. However, there was an unforeseen circumstance – my boss gave birth earlier than expected and I was thrust into duties that I wasn’t supposed to take on until January.
And my workplace had a COVID scare and a lot of things went into limbo so that caused a lot of stress that I normally wasn’t bringing home and now was.
But c’est la vie.

- Finish SSSEO: Module 4 + 5 [✖]
Failed at this for the second month in a row. And it’s not even like I didn’t want to do it either.
Any time I tried to get into SSSEO something else would pop up and I would have to walk away from it. That’s really the gist of it. Next month though.
- Read through: Journey to Center of Amazon [✔]
Easy peasy.
Finished this e-book in two days. I will definitely have to go back and reread it as I didn’t write any notes (it’s been a crazy month 😵💫). Plus, I’ll be revamping (and creating) some of my posts in the coming months and this will surely help me.
- Create a large printable bundle. [½]
I started it, I haven’t finished it. Turns out you can’t just start something and then put it down for two weeks and it magically finishes, ha. But it’s halfway there and I’m very proud of myself nonetheless.
Current Income
I received my first paycheck for this blog from Amazon for the month of October. It was for $14.37! Yay, I’m so enthused.
The month of December has been my highest earning month as you can imagine it was during the Christmas season. Next month the number will drop dramatically – as I know so many other new bloggers will feel – but I’m trying to mentally prepare myself to see disappointment then if that’s the case. Here’s what I made in the month of December:
Ad money: $61.21 via Google AdSense (as of 12:30pm December 31, 2021).
Amazon Associates: $27.39. I noticed that a lot of days where readers bought I didn’t receive a commission for so I’m wondering if these purchases were part of other countries that I’m not signed up for. However, this was a great number and I will not complain considering that in November I didn’t do well.
LTK: $13.56! A huge increase from last month’s $0.64. Really excited about that news, haha.
Skimlinks: $12.15. Woohoo!
Total income: $114.31 🤯
I could cry seeing that number. While it’s not full-time income, it’s heading in the right direction. While I am mentally preparing for a sad January in terms of making anything, my focus is still on creating quality content for my reader. That’s it.
Whatever comes from it, it’s just icing on the top because I know that full-time income will come.
January Goals
Foreseen Roadblocks
The beginning of the year usually comes with overstimulating my calendar, so that I suppose.
Posts
I’m aiming for three posts to be realistic. I have managed to write more when I need to and I have a great feeling that this month will be the same.
SEO + Social Media
Back at it again with SSSEO: Modules 4 + 5. Plus, I want to finish Sophia Lee’s course, yes yes.
Social media? It will forever take a backseat until I feel comfortable with where my blog is monetarily. So until then, you can catch me @lemonadeandadventure on Instagram but aside from that? Nah.
Affiliate Marketing
I read over Debbie’s Amazon book last month, but I’ll have to reread it to write notes. So, I’ll definitely do that.
In addition, I will finish my printables course from Suzi, too. I’m jampacking my month and I’m OK with this!
Email Marketing (+ Subscribers)
I haven’t had much luck here but I have this feeling that it will click next month, I just know it. How? I don’t know, but I’m leaving this to the universe to help me out.
So I’ll be working on that for January and come February I know I’ll have added more subscribers to my email list.
Update Posts
Crazy how time flies, but I’m behind on updating some of my Valentine’s Day posts. By a lot, so I’ll need to get that done ASAP and get out new pins for those posts, too. Yikes.
General Plan
Alrighty, so the TL;DR version:
- Write 3 posts.
- SSSEO: Modules 4 + 5
- Finish Sophia Lee’s Perfecting Blogging & Perfecting Pinterest courses.
- Complete Suzi’s Printables by Number course.
- Reread Journey to the Center of Amazon (and take notes!).
- Update Valentine’s Day posts (roughly 2) and make new pins for them.
I Am An Unstoppable Force of Nature
Yeah, you read that correctly. I’m going to make this happen – and so will you if you’re in my shoes. It’s all about pushing ourselves and not making any excuses. That’s it.
See you at the end of January!
